The Man, The Legend
By Mike AlbrightSports Editor, Decatur Herald-Review
Prepare to be captivated.
For those who know about Gay Kintner, it's finally on the way. for those who have yet to hear about the legend, get ready.
That's because Lisa Gay McCubbin, the great-granddaughter of the longtime Decatur high school basketball coach, has been spending 10-hour days for the last month delving into the man's life story.
She hopes to have a book on a publisher's desk this summer.
It will be a must-read for anyone. It's guaranteed you will be entertained and moved by the anecdotes she has been pulling together.
McCubbin was in Decatur this weekend and took some time from a very busy schedule to talk about what she has uncovered already. It was fun to see the sparkle in her eyes as she spoke about Kintner and the people whose lives he touched.
She spoke with so much energy about wanting to hear more, to learn more. And not simply as research for her book but because of the fascinating tales she uncovers with each interview.
If you can help her, she's anxious to hear more. for anyone who has Kintner stories, email her at lisa@lisamccubbin.com. Or she can be contacted through H&R sports editor Mike Albright (217) 421-7909 or entertainment editor Tim Cain (217) 421-6908.
